Autism and Me

Well here we are, the beginning of the actual blogging that  I will be doing.

Autism- Autism is a developmental disorder that appears in the first 3 years of life, and affects the brain's normal development of social and communication skills. (you can find more information here http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmedhealth/PMH0002494/ )

My oldest Daughter Alyssa (in the swing) and my youngest daughter Zoey (pushing the swing)

Alyssa is Autistic, her sister Zoey is ADD. I am ADHD..wanna know something interesting? All three things are related, in fact..are all a type of Autism. Low end would be ADD and ADHD High end of course is Autism in itself.

There are alot of ways you could look at this however I look at her and I just see my daughter. I may never hear her speak full sentences, or ever say "i love you mama" but that doesn't matter to me.

In The Beginning

There was a woman, who had 2 children. Both of them are girls..one is 7 the other 5 as I write this. They are both beautiful, they are both unique. One is hyper, outgoing, talkative, friendly. The other..well she's very special, she suffers from Autism (well..I don't think it's suffering..but that's the best word I can think of to describe it).

This blog spot is going to be a place that I"m going to share what I can with you folks about my everyday doings with her and her sister, as well as other things that may not even apply to this topic at all but it's all part of my life.

If you enjoy reading it great! I hope to at least shed some light on topics that most don't know about. If you have any questions or comments don't be afraid to ask them. I"ll answer them as truthfully as possible...
